The Church in Wales has joined others in declaring a climate crisis. We are currently at the BRONZE level and working towards the SILVER level of award at EcoChurch . Check out our Eco page for suggestions and info. We want to show care for God's world so we are undertaking a review to help us include more in our worship and teaching, to use our buildings in ways that care for the environment, to have a connection to local and global GREEN concerns and to encourage local folk to live with Nature in mind.
For several years we've been supporting Action aid to improve life for women and girls in poorer contexts. In 2022 we are going to raihttps://llandaff.churchinwales.org.uk/en/outreach-social-justice/eco-eglwysse the profile of their work and campaigns. During Lent we had an appeal to support work we follow in Uganda.
Each weekday on our Facebook page we publish the daily CMS prayer so we can pray for Christians overseas and projects in the UK. Following Easter, we are going to partner with CMS in supporting a local congregation or project in another country.
Thanks to funding from a larger range of grant making bodies we are about to open a cafe area and new kitchen. This will be a base for new expressions of Sunday worship and support existing initiatives like Foodbank and Social Hour for older people, house our new Youth Group, be a place set up Kindness cafe meals and be a venue for job club and bereavement support.
We've helped the community donate items for refugees and are setting up Croeso Cwm Cynon to support those hosts offering accommodation to refugees to settling in our communities in the Valley.
