We encourage everyone to have a lifestyle at home which incorporates some times of listening to God, prayer and Bible study, and to see their life throughout each day as the place of ‘being church’ and responding in care to circumstances.
2020 is time of change in our churches where we will be following our usual patterns for Sunday services with lots of music, time to reflect on our Bible readings, growing in our prayer life and regularly celebrating Christ's love through the sacrament of bread and wine.
At our 4pm service in St Donat's we now have a Sunday school for children in primary school and years 7-10 in High school.
At present we also have a lovely quiet service of prayer and music on Tuesdays at 6.30pm St Donat's
All our services are also streamed on Abercynon church facebook live
When we read the accounts of Jesus we are struck by how much time he spent with people from all sorts of backgrounds, encouraging, challenging, transforming, rebuking...
We are amazed that He then called women, men and children to join in that mission, filling them and us with His very Presence through the Holy Spirit so that His disciples can bring in His Kingdom today.
Wherever we are we are praying words of blessings and hope, healing and peace over the people of our communities as we bring the practical help that comes when we ask God to fill us with the compassion that we see in Jesus.
Check out the NEWS page for our community action and as we'd love to connect and partner with others who stand for justice and hope, please contact us if you'd like to join us on the journey...
Following Jesus is about growing in faith, listening to God’s calling in our life, and enjoying his love. And it is good news for all.
We know that you can be a Christian and not go to church, but our experience is that we best grow as disciples within the context of the local church.
In our parish, we try and encourage all to discover new things of God, to experience him afresh and to share this with others in practical ways.
Most people have questions about faith and the meaning of life; our regular church services and Thursdays small groups that meet to provide a friendly context to seek a better understanding for yourself.
We regularly run Alpha which is a group to create space to consider the big questions of life. Get in touch to find out when we are planning our next Alpha
